Sacred Chapel of the Saviour →
The Sacred Chapel of the Saviour stands proudly in the historic Plaza Vázquez de Molina in Úbeda as the undisputed masterwork of the Spanish Renaissance. Commissioned in the 16th century as a private funerary pantheon for Don Francisco de los Cobos, the powerful imperial secretary to Emperor Charles V, this architectural masterpiece bridges religious devotion with the pursuit of worldly immortality. Designed by the visionary Diego de Siloé and brought to life by master architect Andrés de Vandelvira, the chapel captivates visitors with its breathtaking Plateresque facade, intricate vaults, and monumental altarpiece, where art, faith, and political power merge harmoniously.
