Castillo de Miramar →
Perched atop the rocky promontory of Grignano overlooking the azure Gulf of Trieste, Miramare Castle is an eclectic 19th-century white stone palace. Built between 1856 and 1860 for Austrian Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian and his bride Charlotte of Belgium, its lavish interiors recreate naval warship cabins, set amidst a 22-hectare botanical park imported from travels around the globe.
