Cathedral of Santo Domingo de la Calzada →
Located on the Camino de Santiago, the Cathedral of Santo Domingo de la Calzada is a living masterpiece of Spanish medieval architecture. Founded in the 12th century to aid pilgrims, this Romanesque and Gothic structure holds one of Christendom's most unique traditions: the permanent presence of a live rooster and hen celebrating the miracle of the hanged pilgrim. Featuring an independent Baroque tower, Damián Forment’s magnificent altarpiece, and the saint’s crypt, it stands as a place where faith, legend, and artistic excellence harmonize.
